Baseball sectional pairings announced by IHSAA

The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced the pairings Sunday for the 2026 Baseball State Tournament which will conclude June 19-20 at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis.

Sectional tournaments run from May 27 through June 1.

Regional champions are determined on June 6.

Semistate champions are crowned on June 13.

Class 3A, Sectional 28

Shelbyville has not won a sectional championship since 2005 but is one of three state-ranked teams competing in the Roncalli Sectional.

The Golden Bears (10-3), ranked No. 11, open the bracket against Beech Grove (9-6-1). The winner faces No. 12 New Palestine (10-7) in the semifinal round. Shelbyville is already 2-0 against New Palestine this season.

In the bottom half of the bracket, Rushville (5-9) takes on Indian Creek (6-7).

The final quarterfinal game features the host Royals (15-3), ranked No. 4, battling Greenwood (9-7).

Class 2A, Sectional 43

Triton Central, the defending sectional champion, will host six teams for the sectional tournament.

The sectional opens with Indianapolis Scecina (6-9) battling Christel House (0-6). The winner meets Heritage Christian (8-6-1) in the semifinal round.

Triton Central’s first game in the sectional comes against the defending Class A state champion Indianapolis Lutheran Saints, who are playing up in 2A this season. The Tigers are 6-8 this season. Lutheran is 9-6-1.

The final quarterfinal game features Eastern Hancock (9-3) and Irvington Prep (6-6).

Class A, Sectional 59

Morristown is the host site for the seven-team sectional.

No. 10 Knightstown (8-5) earned the bye and will face the winner of No. 15 South Decatur (11-3) and Edinburgh (2-12) in the semifinal round.

The bottom half of the bracket features a battle between Shelby Eastern Schools. Waldron (6-8) opens against Morristown (5-6).

The other quarterfinal game pits Tri (2-8) against North Decatur (6-6).
