Waltonville scored 7 times in the bottom of the 6th inning Wednesday and went on to post an 8-1 win over the Red Hill Salukis in the Midland Trail Conference (MTC) baseball tournament.
The offensive explosion added insurance to a 1-0 Spartan lead taken in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
The hosts scored 8 runs on 6 hits and made no errors while the Salukis scored 1 run on just 2 hits and 2 errors.
Jaxon Kiser and Avery Arbuckle had the Red Hill hits and Aiden Decker took the loss on the mound, going 5 innings and allowing 5 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks and no strikeouts.
The loss drops the Salukis to 8-8 on the season.
