The Flora Wolves scored 4 runs in the top of the 6th inning to snap a scoreless tie and made those stand up in a 4-0 win over the Lawrenceville baseball Indians Thursday at Unit 20 Ballpark in Lawrenceville.
Flora pitching blanked the Tribe on only 2 hits while the offense scored all their runs off Indian starter Emery Ivers, who went 5 1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts and only 2 walks and gave up 6 of the 8 hits by the Wolves.
The contest was the season and home opening game for the Indians and spoiled the debut of Brian McCrary as new Indian head baseball coach.
The 0-1 Indians head to the Tank Farm in Bridgeport Friday to meet the 1-0 Red Hill Salukis in a Lawrence County baseball battle. Gametime is 4:30 p.m.
