Virginia Brower Overpeck, 91, of Rockville, passed away February 19, 2026.
She was born July 17, 1934, in Bloomingdale, Indiana, to Bennie and Marietta Burns Brower. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ronnie Lee Overpeck; her husband, Clifford D. Overpeck, whom she was married to for 53 years at the time of his passing; brothers, Benjamin (Myrtle), Robert (Alberta), Glenn Richard (Effie); sisters, Rosemary Brower, Barbara Brower, Margaret “Peg” (Lee) Burks.
Virginia was known to many as “Cap” or “Cappy”. Her father called her “The Captain” and this was her nickname for 91 years. Virginia graduated from Marshall High School in 1952. She retired from REMC, where she was a bookkeeper. She loved genealogy, keeping up on current events, and most sports, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and the Hoosiers.
Virginia is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, whom all dearly loved her.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville, with Minister Adam Coffman officiating. Care has been entrusted to Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville.
