Violet Elizabeth Stacey, age 98 of St. Francisville, IL, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, September 26, 2026. She was born to Tommy and Birdie (Record) Duke on March 15, 1928, in Manchester, TN.
She worked for more than 20 years at Hurst Manufacturing of Princeton, IN and was a devoted homemaker to her family.
Violet’s family meant the world to her. She soaked up every moment spent with them and was always there for them when needed. She enjoyed shopping, rummage sales, talking to others, and writing letters to friends and family.
Those remaining to cherish the memories of Violet include: two children- Judy Cline of St. Francisville, IL and Nickey Stacey of Manchester, TN; one step-brother- Dick Duke of Manchester, TN; seven grandchildren- Orvell Cline, Jr. and Johnny Cline both of St. Francisville, IL, Gary Sisk, Jr., Ottis Stacey III, John Paul Stacey, Billy Joe Stacey all four of Manchester, TN, and Angie Stacey of Murfreesboro, TN; several beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Tommy and Birdie Duke; one daughter- Linda Sisk; and one son- Ottis Stacey, Jr.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery of St. Francisville, IL. There will be an opportunity for viewing at the cemetery from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
