Veridean “Grandma” (Wilson) Bias, 60, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born February 22, 1965, in Kokomo, Indiana, she was the daughter of William Lum Douglas and Mary Louise (Goudy) Brown, and was raised by Willie Wilson and her mother. On June 3, 2006, in Kokomo, Indiana, she was married to Kirk Orin Bias, Sr.
She had attended Kokomo High School and had worked several places in the area Jefferson Manor, Meijer’s, and Libby’s. Veridean loved spending time in nature, especially fishing and camping. The purchase of a camper, much to the dissent of her husband, sent them to Springhill Campground for many weekends each summer. She loved gathering with her family and spending as much time with them as possible, especially her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and her family enjoyed countless meals of her famous dishes. Her dressing was a crowd favorite and always requested by family and friends. She was a true homemaker, and in addition to taking care of her family, sewing, and cooking, she was a talented decorator and enjoyed updating her home.
Survivors include her husband, Kirk Orin Bias, Sr., Kokomo; four children, Kennetha Bias, Columbus, OH; Kirk Orin Bias, Jr., Columbus, OH; Leeandre Bias, Kokomo; and Kirstina Bias, Madison, WI; twenty grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; ten siblings, Shirley McCullum, Kokomo; Barbara Corbin, Kokomo; Thomas Brown, Kokomo; Kathryn Hillman, Kokomo; Betty Craver, Bay City, Mich.; Brenda Parker, Kokomo; Linda Douglas, Kokomo; Patricia Cannon, Kokomo; Robin Douglas, Kokomo; and Jeffery (Ruby) Douglas, Union City, Mo.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, John Lee Brown, Sandra Douglas, Bruce Douglas, and Pamela Douglas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Straightgate Ministries, 312 E North St, Kokomo, IN 46901, with Pastor Jack Woodard officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday, at the church.
