Steven C. Halfacre, 77, of Rochester, and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on July 25, 2026, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
Steve was born on April 12, 1949, in Arkansas to Clark and Merle (Sullivan) Halfacre. After graduating from Redlands High School in California, he attended college before proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as an electrician aboard the USS John Paul Jones.
On July 14, 2001, Steve married the love of his life, Vicki Clark. Together they shared many adventures, including road trips, exploring Utah in their Jeep, and a memorable honeymoon along Lake Michigan and Mackinac Island.
Steve dedicated his career to electrical engineering. He worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons before joining Reid-Ashman Manufacturing, where he trained colleagues in programming and traveled throughout the world in support of the company.
Steve will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Halfacre; his son, Aaron Halfacre; his daughter, Theresa (Jeff) Babylon; seven grandchildren; stepchildren Laurie Norman, Kelly Sturch, and Wes (Lori) Norman; seven step-grandchildren; his brother, Tim Halfacre; and his sister, Lori (Jeff) Conley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
In keeping with Steve’s wishes, no services will be held.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
