Shirley Ann Greene, age 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
Shirley Ann Greene, age 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born August 15, 1943, the daughter of Francis Perring and Ruby Perring. She married Philip Greene on May 25, 1963, and he passed away April 2, 2014.
Shirley was a devoted homemaker who dedicated many years to caring for and raising her children. She later worked in the Dietary Department at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Shirley was a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, where she was active in the Ladies Fellowship. Shirley had a special love for dogs, especially her beloved companions, Max, Madi, and Titan. She enjoyed collecting dog statues and had a lifelong affection for animals. Shirley also enjoyed gardening and taking pride in caring for her flowers. She found joy in the simple pleasures of tending to her garden and watching her flowers grow.
Preceding Shirley in death were her parents; husband, Philip; sons, Tony Greene and Cory Greene; brother, Frankie Perring.
Survivors include: children, Dwayne (Theresa) Greene of Lawrenceville and Misty (Lonny) Bellville of Lawrenceville; siblings, Judy (David) Hess of Florida and Jerry (Jerry) Cooper of Florida; nine grandchildren, Nathaniel Greene, Lucas Greene, Heather Greene, Coy Greene, Mikayla (Luke) Nash, Dalton Greene, Taylor Greene; Haley Bellville, Emily Bellville; great-grandchildren, Kirsten Greene, Aiden Schmitt, Adriannah Greene, Elliannah Eagleson, Kayston Greene, AnnElise Greene, James Nash.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, 12085 Pinkstaff Lane, Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. till the service hour of 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
