PLYMOUTH- Sandra K. Tremaine, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at her home.
She was born January 7, 1955, in Aurora, Illinois, to Robert Chally and Lois Smith. Sandra was in the Oswego High School Class of 1974.
Sandra and Michael met through a mutual friend and were married on April 22, 1976, by the Justice of the Peace in Geneva, Illinois. The couple was married a second time on April 18, 1981, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Plymouth, when Sandra became Catholic.
Sandra found comfort and strength in her faith and believed deeply in the prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary-Mother of Sorrows, and St. Peregrine, the patron saint of cancer.
Family was the center of Sandra’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately known as Momma T and Grandma T. She was a constant source of love and support for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Sandra rarely missed a Plymouth sporting event when one of her loved ones was participating. Those afternoons brought countless family memories, which also allowed many other sports families to be fed at team dinners.
Sandra loved canning and baking and generously shared the fruits of her talents with family, friends, and many others throughout her life. Her homemade gifts were expressions of the love and care she had for those around her.
She was a member of the Plymouth American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post #27 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #741.
Sandra will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her love, faith, generosity, and devotion to her family will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband Michael of Plymouth; children: Jason (Jennifer) Johnson of Ottawa, Il; Stacy Tremaine of Plymouth; Brittney Tremaine (Jesse Poe) of Plymouth; siblings: David (Sandie) Chally; Carol (Larry) Henderson; Denise (Jim) Zitoun; Deana (Mike) Davis; Lisa Barnes and Pam Murch; 12-grandchildren and 9-great-grandchildren.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Lois (Dean) Smith, father, Robert Chally, son Michael Ryan Tremaine and sister Barb Erickson.
A celebration of life will be held on September 12, 2026, from 1-4 pm at Puerto Vallarta on the Lake, 10055 Pretty Lake Trail, Plymouth, IN 46563.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with general support.
