Paul Stanley “Stan” Stephens, 76, of Coal City and formerly of Brazil

Paul Stanley “Stan” Stephens, 76, of Coal City and formerly of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at his home on May 27, 2025.

Paul was born on September 22, 1948, in Brazil, Indiana the son of Robert L. and Dorothy (Ehrenhardt) Stephens. He graduated from Patricksburg High School with the class of 1966 and then Porter Business College. He married Regena “Gena” Watt on May 4, 1968. Shortly thereafter, Paul was drafted into the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War, earning several accommodations including the Purple Heart. He re-enlisted with the United States Air Force Reserve and retired after many years of service. He returned home to work as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service for 28 years.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, golfing, fast-pitch softball, and hunting. He was a longtime member of the Ashboro United Methodist Church and most recently Maryland Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Rosalie Graham.

Survivors include his wife Gena Stephens; son Sean Stephens (Dana), their children, Daniel Stephens and Leah Stephens, daughter Kim Price, daughters, Jordyn Bowen (Austen), Alisyn Price and their father, Chris Price, great-grandson: Bennett Paul Bowen; sister Carolyn Seymour; nephews: Stephen Graham and Charlie Seymour; niece Michele Wright as well as many extended family members and friends.

Memorial services will be at Centerpoint Church, 208 S. Cherry St. Centerpoint, Indiana 47840, on June 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by members of the United States Air Force as well as VFW Post 1127 and American Legion Post 2.
