Olive Pearl Dalka, 97, a longtime resident of Medaryville

Olive Pearl Dalka, 97, a longtime resident of Medaryville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2026.

She passed away peacefully at the Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, IN. Olive was born on September 27, 1928 in Winamac to the late Willard Orlando and Ruth Hazel (Sims) Hauser. She grew up in rural Star City, IN and graduated from Star City High School. On May 4, 1947, Olive married Charles William Dalka at the First Christian Church in Winamac. They made their home in Medaryville where they raised two daughters. Camping was a favorite past time they shared together. Charles passed away December 5, 1998.

Olive was a talented seamstress. She retired from the Medaryville Garment Factory after working there for 24 years. Olive enjoyed volunteering at the Medaryville Senior Center, especially helping with the Food-Share Organization. She enjoyed reading and cross-stitching. Olive was a loving wife, mother, and nanny who will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM EDT Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Frain Mortuary in Medaryville.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM EDT Friday, March 20, 2026 at Frain Mortuary in Medaryville with Pastor Rickie Prater officiating.

Burial will take place at White Post Cemetery in Medaryville.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Friends of the Medaryville Gymnasium or the Medaryville Potato Fest.
