Mervin Eddie Dale, age 85 of Evansville, IN and formerly of West Frankfort, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN.
Mervin Eddie Dale, age 85 of Evansville, IN and formerly of West Frankfort, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. He was born January 16, 1941, in Bridgeport to Johnnie Samuel Dale and Eileen Hazel (Doss) Grubb.
After graduating from Reitz High School in 1959, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for 4 years. He worked in electronics while he served. Eddie took that experience and put it to use after his military service. For many years, he worked on copy machines for Xerox, 3M, Bellwood-Howl, and Icon until he started his own company working on and repairing copy machines while living in Florida, Eddie Dale, Inc.
Eddie had a full life, enjoyed buying and selling homes, and loved playing pool. He enjoyed playing pool so much that he had a pool table in every house he lived in throughout the years.
Those left to remember Eddie include: one granddaughter- Kara McKnight of Evansville, IN; one half-brother- Donald Gene Dale; 2 half-sisters- Joanne Gaither of Bridgeport, IL and Hazel Dale of Lawrenceville, IL: one daughter- Kelly McKnight and husband David of Evansville, IN; and one son- Tod Dale of Evansville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Barry Warren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bridgeport City Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is in charge of arrangements.
