Lula Mae Kuhn, 90, a lifelong Morristown resident

Lula Mae Kuhn, 90, a lifelong Morristown resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Major Health Partners in Shelbyville.

She was born on January 29, 1936, in Rush County, the daughter of William Sipe and Opal (Kirkham) Nelson. On May 28, 1954, she married Donald Kuhn, and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1981.

Lula Mae is survived by her children, Terry Kuhn and wife, Lisa, of Shelbyville, Linda Smith and husband, Don, of North Dakota, and Michael Kuhn and wife, Tammy, of Indianapolis; sister, Donna Wilson and husband, Steve, of Ohio; sister-in-law, Judy Nelson of Greenfield; grandchildren, Christopher Kuhn, Derrick Kuhn, Desiree Kuhn and husband, Geronimo Guerrero, Danielle Seabrook and husband, Anthony, and Samuel Smith and wife, Sjonae; great-grandchildren, Amelia Kuhn, D.J. Kuhn, Milo Guerrero, Eleanore Smith and Theodore Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Donald, Lula Mae was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Aaron Kuhn; and brothers, Larry and Johnny Nelson.

Lula Mae was a 1954 graduate of Arlington High School.

She was a member of the Morristown Christian Church.

Lula Mae formerly worked at the Shelby County Clerk’s office.

She was also a member of the Morristown Order of Eastern Star, and had previously served as Worthy Matron.

Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Monday, August 3, 2026 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St., in Morristown.

Eastern Star services will begin at Noon. Immediately followed by the funeral service, with Rev. Dr. Robb Barlow officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
