Louis Wayne Kohlhause, age 89 of St. Francisville, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Louis Wayne Kohlhause, age 89 of St. Francisville, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born April 23, 1937, in St. Francisville, IL to Louis A. Kohlhause and his wife Mary (Phillips) Kohlhause.
On April 18, 1959, Wayne married the love of his life and true partner in life, Linda Fox. For 67 years, they were by each other’s sides, raised and enjoyed their family, and built a beautiful life.
Wayne had worked for more than 20 years at Pacific Press in Mt. Carmel, IL as a mechanic. He worked hard and loved to tinker. Most times, he could be found tinkering in the garage on just about anything, but he especially loved working with steam engines. He enjoyed attending steam engine shows and was always willing to help someone out. Wayne was a jack of all trades and could work on just about anything.
Those remaining to carry on Wayne’s memory and love include: his wife- Linda Kohlhause of St. Francisville, IL; two children- Jim Kohlhause and wife Sonya of Mt. Carmel, IL and Melanie Siegle and husband Bennie of St. Francisville, IL; one granddaughter- Cassie Kohlhause of St. Francisville, IL; one brother- Sam Kohlhause and wife Shirley of St. Francisville, IL; one sister- Myrna Stone of St. Francisville, IL; and one sister-in-law- Pat Kohlhause of St. Francisville, IL.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Louis and Mary Kohlhause; one brother- Mike Kohlhause; and one brother-in-law- Harold Stone.
Graveside services are scheduled to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Oaklawn Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home is assisting Wayne’s family during their time of loss.
