Loretta Ann (Chiles) Ash, 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. She was born October 19, 1938, to Donald F. Chiles and Georgia F (Ashley) Chiles
She moved to California with her parents when she was 9 and went to 5 different schools while there. She came back to Indiana when she was 14 and went to Greencastle Jr & Sr High School. She had one sister, June Arlene (Chiles) Cash.
She worked at Mallory Capacitor company for 39 ½ years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas and casinos, playing cards. She also enjoyed going to Canada and Alaska with her husband on fishing trips.
She was a past president for the Eagles 4388, Treasure of the American Legion Auxiliary 58, Secretary, Treasure and Membership Chairman of VFW Auxiliary 1550.
She married Joseph H. Ash on March 5, 1955. He passed away on August 21, 2017. Together they had three children, Deanne Lynn (Ash) Smiley, Darrell Wayne Ash, and Douglas Lee Ash. She is also survived by four grandchildren Shannon Joseph Reeves, Jason Wayne Ash (Melissa), Jody Lynn Query, and Shawn Michael Gregg; eight Great Grandchildren, Courtney, Maggie May, Marah, Dillion, Pyper, Abryanna, Lucas, Madyson.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents, a sister, a great granddaughter Abryanna and several nieces and nephews.
