On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Linda Kay Yost, age 79 of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away at Aperion Care of Vincennes, IN.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, heaven gained a beautiful soul. Linda Kay Yost, age 79 of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away at Aperion Care of Vincennes, IN. She was born to Winford Junior Adams and his wife Helen Lucille (Stice) Adams at their family home in Lawrenceville, IL on September 20, 1947.

Linda married the love of her life, Nick Yost, on December 6, 1969. For 30 years, Linda and Nick lived life side by side and enjoyed their family until he passed away on June 7, 2000.

After working at Suttle until it closed, Linda went back to school to further her education. She then worked in the Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room for 33 years until her retirement. 

To accurately put Linda’s life into words is nearly impossible. She poured herself into her family and her community. For 40 years, she was largely involved with Camp Girls as a director and a cook. She truly loved being a part of Camp Girls. She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon of Lawrence County, took pride in helping with Wreaths Across America, was involved in organizing Christmas in the Park, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Lawrenceville. Linda was a Lawrenceville Indians fan through and through. Watching her daughters and grandsons participate in any event was a true joy for her. She absolutely loved her family and attended anything and everything she could for them.

Those left to carry on the amazing legacy of Linda’s include: her daughter- Kimberly Sakowicz and husband Joe of Lawrenceville, IL; four grandsons- Ashton Primus of Lawrenceville, IL; Bryce Winningham and wife Riley of Franklin, IN, Blayne Winningham of Lawrenceville, IL, and Brenyn Winningham and wife Emily of Lawrenceville, IL; one sister- Brenda Griggs and husband Mike of Lawrenceville, IL; one niece- Debbie Shoulders and husband Cameron of Lawrenceville, IL; one nephew- Nick Griggs and wife Hillary of Sumner, IL; and one aunt- Dorothy Stice.

She was preceded in death by: her parents- Winford Junior Adams and Helen Lucille Adams; her husband- Nick Yost; and her daughter- Angie Yost Primus.

A visitation will be held at the Cunningham-Young funeral Home in Lawrenceville on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow immediately. Burial will take place in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
