Larry Darrin Miller, 58, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Thursday April 9th, 2026, at The Haven of Bridgeport. He was born on August 21, 1967, in Olney, Illinois, to Larry and Sue (Hunt) Miller.
Darrin was an exceptional athlete throughout his high school years, his natural ability helped him set many school records as a multi-sport athlete.
He went on to become a carpenter, a trade he took great pride in, building things that would last - much like the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
Darrin found his greatest happiness in life’s simple, meaningful moments. Whether he was fishing, mushroom hunting, spending long days and nights running on the river with his brother and friends, or sitting back and watching his grandchildren grow and play, those were the times he enjoyed the most. He had a deep love for music, especially Shannon Hoon and the band Blind Melon, whose songs often served as the soundtrack to his life.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Miller, his son, Blayze Miller (Paige Harvey), and three grandchildren; Vance Miller, Wrenly Miller and Fia Miller. Also, Levi & Rikki McCullough, who he loved as his own.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Miller, and his brother, JD Miller—two people he held close in his heart.
Darrin will be remembered not only for his athleticism and carpentry skills, but for the way he loved those around him. His willingness to help anybody, his abilty to make you laugh, and the campfire jams with JD and their cousins are moments shared with him that will be deeply missed…but never forgotten.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Cunningham-Young Funeral Home of Lawrenceville with funeral services following immediately at 5:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Lawrenceville City Cemetery at a later date.
