Kattie May (Craigmile) Dedloff, 95, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1931, to Robert James Craigmile and Helen Viola (Good) Craigmile.
Kattie lived a long and active life centered on family, friendship, service, travel and a genuine love of learning. She enjoyed a lengthy career with the United States Department of Agriculture, working in both the Knox and Plymouth offices, including programs associated with rural housing.
Service to her community was an important part of Kattie's life. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of the Saint Charles Chapter, NSDAR, in St. Charles, Missouri. She also served as a PTO treasurer and was a lifetime member of Knox United Methodist Church.
Kattie was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for historical novels. She enjoyed British television and had a love of needlework and genealogy. She also loved playing bridge and was a member of bridge clubs in both Bass Lake and North Judson.
Always eager to see and learn something new, Kattie traveled extensively throughout the United States. She especially enjoyed Elderhostel educational trips with her friends, combining her love of travel, history, learning and companionship.
Kattie was the mother of four children: Kathy (Randy) Abbey, Brenda (Bill) Newell, Craig (Laura) Dedloff and Mark (Sandra) Dedloff. She is survived by her sons, Craig and Mark.
She was also the proud grandmother of Karen Abbey, Jennifer Abbey, Mary Helen Newell, Lisa Lambing, Kattie Bell, Ryan Dedloff, Jessica Wakefield, Charles Bridegroom Jr. and Katie Griffin; and great-grandmother of Caitlynn, Amara, Brayden, Aubree, Easton, Farrah, Jolene, Nicholas, Thomas, Violet, Hannah and Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert James and Helen Viola (Good) Craigmile; her brothers, Charles Frederick Craigmile and Samuel Edward Craigmile; an infant sister; her daughters, Kathleen Ann Abbey and Brenda Joyce Newell; and her former husband and the father of her children, William Joseph "Bill" Dedloff.
Friends will be received 11 AM till time of service at 1 PM, Friday, October 2 at the at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.
Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Friday, October 2, 2026 at 1 PM with Rev. Chris Kosary officiating.
Interment will follow in the Round Lake Cemetery, Knox, Indiana.
