Karen Sue “Patton” Berry, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2025.
Karen was a devoted member of Mt. Hebron Community Church, Quincy Baptist Church, and Clinton Falls Community Church throughout her life. She was also an active participant in the Putnam County Center for Women’s Ministries, and in recent years, continued her support as a faithful donor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Putnam County Center for Women’s Ministries in her honor at P.O. Box 660 Cloverdale, IN 46120.
Karen lived a full and joyful life. She loved traveling with her family and enjoyed Cowboy Action Shooting, Square Dancing, and Hunting. A Licensed QMA, she cared deeply for others—working at Heritage House Nursing Home and later running her own practice, providing compassionate care to the elderly in their homes. She also found great joy in mushroom and ginseng hunting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie and Freda Patton; her brother, Hugh Allen Patton; and her granddaughter, Kristy Smith.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Denny F. Berry; and her daughters, Kitty and Bill Austin, Bonnie and Karl Sparks, and Julie and Tom Smith. She is also survived by her brother, Lee Roy Patton (Paula); and dear family members Jeannie Patton, John and Marjie Kelley, Alice and Dan Wittwer, and Jerry Webb.
Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren—Jim, Karla, Nicole, Chris, Denny, William, Brittnay, Tyler, and Teigan—along with eighteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her faith, love, and kindness will continue to inspire those she touched.
