Jerrold D. "Jerry" Lingenfelter, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at his residence.
Born May 3, 1956 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Harry Gene Lingenfelter and Sandra Yvonne (Stewart) Lingenfelter.
He married Linda (Fraley) Lingenfelter on April 29, 1995, and she survives in Franklin.
Other survivors include 3 daughters- Tracy Lingenfelter of Shelbyville, Melissa Rauch of Shelbyville, Katelyn Marie Lingenfelter (Sergio) of Shelbyville; stepdaughter Jennifer Foster (Thad) of Graham, Washington; 2 brothers- Rod Lingenfelter (Darlene) of Knightstown, Charles "Chuck" Lingenfelter of Knightstown; a sister Gayle Roswell of Spiceland; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers- Danny & Jack Lingenfelter.
Mr. Lingenfelter had lived in this area since 1995, after moving from Greenwood. He had been a jouneyman electrician at Knauf Fiber Glass for 20 years, Delco Remy, and Toray Resin of Shelbyville for 20 years, retiring in 2020. He graduated from Eastern Hancock High School, and was a member of the Knightstown American Legion, and a former member of the Eagles Lodge. He was a US Air Force veteran.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and vacationing in the Cayman Islands.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Friends may call on Monday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Military rites will be observed.
