Jason A. Foltz, 54, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
He was born February 15, 1972, in Shelbyville, IN to Robert L. Foltz and Bonnie Jean (Colvin) Foltz.
He married Traci (Stieneker) Foltz on July 17, 1993, and she survives. They spent 33 loving years of marriage together.
Jason graduated from Shelbyville High School with the Class of 1990. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #822. He enjoyed being out on his motorcycle and listening to heavy metal music. He also enjoyed traveling and taking extensive trips with his family and friends. Jason had his pilot’s license and spent a lot of time flying in his younger years. He cherished the times spent with his cousins and family down at the lake house on Lake Lemon. He has been a farmer his whole life and helped run the family farm with his father and brothers. Jason was instrumental in the process of restoring Blessings Opera House and brought it back to life for the community. In fact, he was known as the handyman for the Opera House. Jason loved to help others. He could fix anything and was always up for the challenge of any repair needed.
He is also survived by his father, Robert L. (wife, Carolyn) Foltz; daughter, Jennah Foltz; son, Luke Foltz (fiancé, Hadley Knaus); brother, Dan (wife, Angie) Foltz; nieces, Emily Foltz, Shelby Gibson and Julianna Rains; nephews, Franklin Foltz, Harrison Foltz, Jack Foltz and Jacob Rains; mother-in-law, Ann Stieneker; sisters-in-law, Lora Foltz-Howard, Amy (husband, Kevin) Gibson and Kimberly (husband, Mark) Rains; aunt, Nancy Foltz Adams and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, John Foltz; father-in-law, Joe Stieneker and nephew, Nathan Gibson.
Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2026, from 2 p.m .to 8 p.m. at the Blessings Opera House, 18 Public Square, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, IN 46176 with Father Mike Keucher officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
