Jack Earon York, 72, of Marshall, IL, formerly of Greencastle

Jack Earon York, 72, of Marshall, IL, formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Born in Greencastle on November 25, 1952, the son of Charles G. and Louise M. (Shaner) York. He was a graduate of Greencastle High School “Class of 1971.”

Jack retired as a supervisor from the Lear Corporation where he had worked for over 30 years, He had previously worked at Mallory’s for 15 years.

Jack was an avid outdoorsman, loving to coon hunt and ride horses. He was a talented artist, he especially enjoyed drawing animals. He was a competitive euchre player and loved to play at family gatherings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles “Chucky” York; and sister & brother-in-law Judith & Dan Cook.

Jack is survived by his daughter Sara (Scott) English; sisters Beverly (Jerry) Fislar and Patricia (Henry) Stitzle; grandchildren Jacob, Ryan, & Alex English; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family invites you to share in Jack’s memorial service with one of your favorite funny stories or memories shared about Jack at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Followed by inurnment at the Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jack to the American Diabetes Association.
