Exiene Joan Barnett, 98, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at MPH Medical Center.
Born on October 3, 1927, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Vernice Unger and Kathryn (Stern) Unger.
She married Kenneth Barnett and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2006.
Survivors include 2 children- Bill Barnett of St. Pete Beach Florida, Sandy (Brad Dickmann) Barnett of Shelbyville;
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth and 1 brother & 1 sister.
Exiene had lived in this area her entire lifetime and graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1945.
She was a homemaker and a Licensed Realtor/Office Manager for Branson Realty. She previously attended the Flat Rock United Methodist Church. Exiene enjoyed watching basketball, including the Indiana Fever and IU Basketball.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Monday, August 31, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437
Amos Road with David Sever officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends
Monday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
