Eleanor L. Yeager Delp, 90, of Greencastle

Eleanor L. Yeager Delp, 90, of Greencastle, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Harmony At Avon.

Eleanor was born in Elkins, West Virginia on April 26, 1935, to Granville & Lilly Yeager and was a 1953 graduate of Coalton High School. She moved to Greencastle and started her career at the Indiana State Veterinarian’s office. Eleanor met and married the love of her life, Robert Delp in 1955. Bob and Eleanor were married for 48 years. After raising 3 children, Eleanor returned to the work force at the Putnam County Bureau of Motor Vehicles where she issued driver’s licenses to all 3 children. She ran for and won the office of Putnam County Township Assessor where she stayed until her retirement in 1998.

Eleanor was an avid golfer, daily walker and enjoyed shell seeking on the beaches of Florida. Eleanor and her entire large family enjoyed planning and attending the Yeager family reunion back in Elkins, West Virginia every 4th of July.

She is survived by her 3 children, Michael Delp, Cathy Delp Hartmann and Karen Bromm, (Grant Niemeyer); a grandson, Matthew Bromm; and a step-granddaughter, Valerie Hartmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Delp; five brothers, Eugene, Graydon, Herman, Joseph, and Raymond; and four sisters, Urie, Hilda, Virginia and Frances.

There will be a private burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
