Charles Max All, 91, of Terre Haute

Charles Max All, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, July 12,2025.

Max was born to Charles and Evelyn All in August of 1933. He went on to graduate from Gerstmeyer Technical High School class of 1952 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Kathleen “Kitty” Sullivan on Valentine’s Day in 1982 and was married for 42 years.

Max was a lifetime member of VFW post 972, the Carpenter’s Union 133 and attended St. Joseph's Parish. Max retired from his carpentry business and went on to work for Guarantee Roofing and Terre Haute First Financial Bank. He was known for his sense of humor, big laugh, helping others and periodically firing his nephews Steve and Chris who worked for him. Max had a love for the game of basketball, playing in high school and during his time in the Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, travelling, reading and bowling at Vigo Bowl. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was one of a kind and will never be replaced!

Max is survived by his wife of 42 years Kathleen “Kitty” (Sullivan) All; children Michele Rector (Byron), Greg All (Maggie), Ann Nord (Joe – deceased), Becky David (Jo), and Libby David; grandchildren Max Rector (Melissa), Caitlyn Mueller (Luke), Emily Lara (Enrique), Britni Lang, Jacob Herrberg, Sam Nord, and Cassidy All; great-grandchildren Mason, Addison, Aiden, Teddy, CJ, Adrena, and Killian; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles H. All and Evelyn (Clark) All; and his siblings Tina, Nettie, and Audrey.

The family would like to express gratitude to Max’s nephews, Kenny Depasse, Jeff Depasse and Steve Steward for their selfless dedication and support over the past several months. Also, a special thank you to VNA Hospice nurses and support staff for their compassion and care.

A thoughtful way to remember Max is by making a donation in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital supporting their vital work for children.
