Charles David “Chuck” Pile, 72, of Shelbyville

Charles David “Chuck” Pile, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at his home.

He was born on June 30, 1953, in Shelbyville, the only son of Charles Richard and Alice (Haines) Pile. On February 28, 1976, he married his wife of 49 years, Darlene Harrell, and she survives.

In addition to Darlene, Chuck is survived by his daughter, Cari Nicole Faulconer and husband, Shawn, of Shelbyville; son, Christopher Charles Pile and wife, Jessica, of Shelbyville; sisters, Tobi Fisher of Hebron, Terri Smith and husband, Allen, of Edinburgh, Toni Relleke of Shelbyville, and TeAnn Kuntz and husband, Glen, of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Kenedie, Calan, Keagan, Madison, Damian, Grayson and Cora; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In 1971, Chuck graduated from Southwestern High School, and continued his education at Indiana University.

He owned and operated Fire Station Motors for over 20 years, retiring in 2008.

Chuck was a longstanding member of the American Legion.

He loved boating and fishing on Dale Hallow Lake, with his family and friends.

Chuck enjoyed watching NASCAR, The Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University football and basketball.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 am, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will follow.
