Catherine Elizabeth (Case) LeGout, age 105 formerly of Sumner, passed away Sunday July 26, 2026 at Bridgepointe Health Campus in Vincennes, Indiana.
Catherine Elizabeth (Case) LeGout, age 105 formerly of Sumner, passed away Sunday July 26, 2026 at Bridgepointe Health Campus in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born February 7, 1921 in Sumner, Illinois to Carl McDowell and Clara Gertrude (Sanders) Case.
She married the love of her life Victor Wendell Le Gout and they had 60 years together until his passing May 16, 2009.
Catherine went to beauty school in Springfield. When she finished, she moved back home and opened her own beauty shop, Katie’s Beauty Parlor. After one year of marriage, she closed down the shop, and they devoted their lives to each other. They traveled, danced, and lived their lives the way they wanted to.
Those left to remember her are her dear friends, Greg and Mary Jane Brunson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters- Mary, Norene, Daisy, and Geneveve; and three brothers- John, Paul, and Forrest.
A graveside service for Catherine will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Crest Haven Memorial Park. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting her family during their time of loss.
