Carolyn Joan Whitmarsh, 91, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on August 31, 2025. She was born December 21, 1933 to the late Fredrick and Irene (Myers) Moser in Terre Haute.
She graduated high school in Vigo County. On December 1, 1955, she married Thomas L. Whitmarsh whom she met when she was a waitress at a local restaurant, and the rest is history. Throughout her life she worked at several places including, Van Buren Elementary as a cook, Fleetwood Mobile Home Manufacturing, and Glas-Col. After retirement, she took care of her husband Thomas who passed away in 2004.
Carolyn enjoyed tending to her flower garden, shopping, going out to eat, and spending time with her family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother in law Bob Whitmarsh and a sister in law Wanda Whitmarsh.
Carolyn is survived by her two children, Linda Nicosin (Michael), and Thomas Whitmarsh (Connie), grandchildren, Shawn Nicosin (Courtney), Travis Nicosin (Missie), Austin Nicosin (Christin), Caleb Nicosin (Baileigh), Rick Haughee (Sarah), Francie Culbertson (Joseph), Amy Rice, and Michelle Archer, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one niece Micky Woodrow( Ron Blasig).
A visitation will be held Friday, September 5th from 1-2:30 at Lawson Miller Chapel, 1702 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tom Roeschlein will begin at 2:30.
Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
