Brian S. McDowell, 57, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Born June 23, 1969 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Michael Earl McDowell and Clara Louise (Stiers) McDowell. He married Pamela (Swain) McDowell in 2000, and she survives.
Other survivors include a son Adam Pittman (Gail) of Shelbyville; 3 daughters- Lauren McDowell, Kellie Pittman of Shelbyville, Jennifer McKenney of Shelbyville; a sister Sherry Smith (Tom) of Kentucky; a brother Larry McDowell (Amy)
of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren- Alexis, Quaylynn, Haidyn, Xain, Aulee, Blake, Luke, Cruz, Hayden, Gibson; and one great grandchild- Kya. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Michael McDowell.
Mr. McDowell had lived in this area for his entire lifetime and attended Shelbyville High School. He had been a glass installer for 33 years and had owned and operated his own business, BMP Auto Glass, for the last 11 years. He was a member of the Moose
Lodge of Columbus, and the American Legion Post #70.
Brian enjoyed working and loved doing his job. He enjoyed dancing at the Moose. He was a people person who never met a stranger. He loved his 3 dogs- Max, Bella, and Molly.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Dwayne Russell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 11:00 am until
the time of the service, at the funeral home.
