
Alice Marie (Shoemaker) Clodfelter, 96, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Greencastle, surrounded by family and caregiver Kathy Rich.
She was the daughter of Dwight Shoemaker and Lula Shoemaker Beam and stepdaughter of Lucy Allison. Born March 15, 1929, Greencastle, Indiana. Alice was a 1947 graduate of Bainbridge High School, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Greencastle, a previous member of the Bainbridge Christian Church, and the New Maysville Community Church.
Alice married her high school sweetheart Max Ralph Clodfelter on October 24, 1947, and they enjoyed 72 years of marriage together. She was a lifelong farmer's wife to Max in the Bainbridge area until they retired in 1989 and moved to Florida.
Alice loved to spend time with her husband and family in Florida during the winters visiting with friends from all over North America. She also enjoyed traveling with Avion travel trailer club on many trips to various places, including Alaska, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
She is survived by her son Philip (Darla) Clodfelter, daughter-in-law Maria Dean Clodfelter, sister-in-law Ardell Pingleton, six grandchildren; Aaron (Martha) Clodfelter, Christy (Darren) Collier, Jeremy (Michelle) Clodfelter, Brandi Clodfelter, Jason (Carole) Clodfelter, Jodi (Josh) Willhite, and niece Joyce (Bill) Shoemaker Stillwell and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Max, parents, stepmother Lucy Allison, brother Philip (Wilma) Shoemaker, son Larry (Lynda) Clodfelter, brother-in-law Allen (Cozy) Clodfelter, and brother-in-law Bob Pingleton.
Private funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church, Greencastle, at a later time.
