Parke County Deputies were involved in a brief foot chase after a wanted man fled while deputies were fulfilling an arrest warrant.
52-year-old Scottie Atkins was wanted by the Parke County Sheriff's Office for a felony burglary charge.
When approached, Atkins fled from officers on foot, however, he was quickly caught and arrested. Upon gathering a search warrant, deputies also found multiple firearms and methamphetamine in Atkins's home. Atkins was additionally charged with being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm and possession of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Atkins is also adding resisting arrest to his list of charges.
Atkins is now being held at the Parke County Jail with a bond of $35,000.
