The Salvation Army of Shelbyville is working alongside Walmart to bring a special “Christmas in July” Red Kettle campaign , offering shoppers an opportunity to give back during a meaningful summer activation.
On Friday, shoppers visiting the Shelbyville Walmart from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will see The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettles stationed outside the store, where donations will support individuals and families in need across Shelby County.
Funds raised will help provide meals, shelter, utility assistance, and other critical services throughout the year. This initiative reflects the ongoing relationship between Walmart and The Salvation Army, focused on meeting local needs and strengthening communities nationwide.
“Christmas in July is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and supper local families facing hardship,” said Major Lynn Lopez of The Salvation Army of Shelbyville. “Every donation made at the Red Kettle helps ensure that individuals and families in Shelby County can access vital resources and compassionate care when they need it most.”
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign has long been a symbol of hope and generosity, traditionally centered around the holiday season. This summer activation extends that spirit, offering another opportunity for community members to make a meaningful impact, bringing hope, joy and practical support to neighbors in need year-round.
Community members are encouraged to stop by the Red Kettles at Walmart Supercenter in Shelbyville, 2500 Progress Parkway, on Friday to give with joy and support local families.
