A Veterans Day ceremony begins at 10:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Fulton County Courthouse, followed by free meals for veterans and their families at the American Legion and VFW Post.
A Veterans Day ceremony is set to begin at 10:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Fulton County Courthouse.
This year's ceremony will include speeches by VFW Post 1343 Commander Kurt Nichols and Rochester Mayor Trent Odell, the Pledge of Allegiance led by area Boy Scouts, singing of the national anthem by Erika Yates and a three-round volley and the playing of "Taps" by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
All are encouraged to attend to honor veterans.
Immediately following, the American Legion, 611 Main St., Rochester, will serve a chili lunch. Additionally, the VFW Post, 1703 Federal Drive, Rochester, serves a turkey and ham dinner, beginning at 4 p.m. Both meals are free for all veterans and their families.
