A traffic stop on Sunday, November 17, at about 2 p.m. resulted in the arrest of a Plymouth man for driving while suspended with a prior.
Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose registered owner was suspended. The vehicle was observed traveling south on Michigan Street at Washington Street.
The registered owner and driver was identified as Franklin Vega, 57, of Michigan Road in Plymouth. Vega was arrested, transported to Marshall County Jail, and booked in for driving while suspended with a prior. He was able to bond out 3½ later.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
