Last week, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) testified before the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), highlighting the critical importance of defense modernization while underscoring the invaluable role AM General continues to play in supporting the U.S. military and national security.
"For over 40 years, AM General has been a cornerstone of our defense industrial base, delivering Humvees that have reliably served our military both at home and abroad,” Rep. Yakym said. “I understand the imperative of modernizing our forces to address evolving threats. However, the recent decision to phase out both the Humvee and JLTV platforms raises significant concerns for the dedicated workers in Indiana and the broader light tactical vehicle industrial base spanning 43 states. As we advance these discussions, I urge the Committee to ensure transparency in the implementation process and to maintain a seat at the table for industry leaders like AM General, who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to equipping our warfighters.”
