A Poland, Indiana man on the run after a recent drug bust in Clay County has finally landed behind bars thanks to the help of the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Authorities arrested Thomas L. Miller, Poland, who was wanted on charges of dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.
On September 3, the sheriff’s office said deputies and detectives attempted to locate Miller during a search of his Clay County home. While investigating Miller’s home, the sheriff’s office said deputies located “additional drug-related items.”
Following the search, Clay County deputies and detectives continued to follow up on leads regarding Miller’s whereabouts. Those leads took investigators into Owen and Putnam Counties in an effort to locate him. The U.S. Marshals Service Task Force was contacted and assisted with the search efforts,” said officials with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in a news release.
On Tuesday, September 15, members of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, and U.S. Marshals Service Task Force located Miller at a Putnam County home.
Miller was then transported to the Clay County Jail. Miller is being held on a $40,000 bond with no 10 percent allowed.
