Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, officers from the Indiana State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene of an injury-involved crash on State Road 114 near County Road 1600 East.
The accident resulted in the death of two individuals.
The preliminary crash investigation by Master Trooper Todd Trottier revealed that Coleton R. Cahill, 18, of Claypool, IN, was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee heading eastbound on State Road 114, with Joselynn S. Hensley, 18, of Rochester, IN, occupying the front passenger seat. For an undetermined reason, the Jeep traveled off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Coleton Cahill and Joselynn Hensley were pronounced deceased at the crash scene by the Fulton County Coroner's Office.
This is an ongoing investigation. At this time, neither the consumption of alcoholic beverages nor narcotics is suspected of contributing to this crash. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in this crash. Notification to the family of the deceased has been made.
Master Trooper Trottier was assisted by other members of the Indiana State Police Peru Post, Indiana State Police Bremen Post, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, the Henry Township Fire Department, Parkview EMS, the Fulton County Coroner's Office, and Tony's Towing.
