Authorities in southwestern Indiana and southeastern Illinois remain on the lookout for a Posey County, Indiana man wanted in connection with the death of his wife.
54-year-old Paul Harnishfeger, Jr. of Stewartsville is being sought on a warrant for his arrest on a first-degree murder charge after his wife's body was found on Sunday, October 25th inside her residence. The discovery of Chasity Harnishfeger was made after police had been asked to conduct a welfare check on her.
Stewartsville is located 20 miles east of Grayville across the Wabash River and just south of Interstate 64.
It was learned during the investigation that Harnishfeger had connections in nearby White County in Illinois and had threatened two Carmi residents previously, so authorities there are on the alert.
Harnishfeger is considered as armed and dangerous. Anyone who encounters him is urged to contact 911 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
