Triton Jr/Sr High School to host "Craftsman with Character" Author David Hitaj Thursday

Triton Jr/Sr High School will welcome author and creator David Hitaj Thursday at 9 a.m. to introduce his concepts and methodology from Craftsman with Character, a program focused on helping individuals develop high character, a strong work ethic, and confidence in what they can bring to a colleague, team, town, marriage, and the world.

Triton is the first school that Hitaj has committed to working with. The school corporation says it encourages the continued growth of both staff and students as they embark on understanding Hitaj's six universal principles for individuals to be their best and maximize their impact in their sphere of influence:

1. I am not the center of the universe.
2. I do not know everything, nor nearly as much as I think I do.
3. There is dignity and purpose in knowing my trade.
4. The World Needs Me.
5. Pay is a reward for my efforts, but not my main motivation.
6. Every person has unique gifts and talents.

The community is invited to attend tomorrow's presentation or reach out for more information, as Triton School Corporation continues its mission to be "Uncommon, Moving Forward, seeking to learn, refine, and serve."

Later this week, Triton will hold its annual Triton Gives Back Day on Friday, September 25th, from approximately 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. During the event, the school will mobilize every staff member and student throughout the region to give back to individuals, assisted living facilities, food pantries, parks, not-for-profits, and more.

Organizers describe the effort as 1,000 Triton Trojans thinking of "Others Over Self."
