Three people were killed and another seriously injured in a weekend two-vehicle crash in Cass County.
Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls about the crash on State Road 29 at CR 400 South. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2015 Nissan Senta driven by John Stepek, 51, of Hammond, was westbound on 400 South when he disregarded a stop sign and entered the path of a 2020 GMC Sierra.
Stepek and his passenger, Jennifer Stepek, 54, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Michael Wilcox, 79, of rural Logansport, was the driver of the Sierra. Wilcos sustained serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to St. Vincent’s in Indianapolis. A passenger, Elizabeth Wilcox, 78, died in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Cass County Coroner.
