The Starke County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in a robbery.
Just before 8:30 a.m., the store manager of the Dollar General located at 1015 S. SR 23 in Knox contacted the Starke County 911 Center to report an attempted robbery. According to the manager, a male subject entered the store and handed the cashier a note demanding money from the cash register. When the cashier informed the individual that there was no money in the register, the suspect exited the store without obtaining any cash.
Surveillance footage captured the incident. The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and short facial hair.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing light-colored jeans, a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, a green baseball cap, and blue gloves.
The suspect was observed leaving the store and entering the back seat of a white sedan, which then fled westbound on SR 8 toward Knox.
