The Sumner City Council continues to move forward with the construction of a new City Hall. The council met in regular monthly session Tuesday night and were updated on the project progress by engineer Shannon Woodard. After a lengthy discussion regarding the quality of the work being done and project deadlines, a motion to approve the over $194,000 pay estimate from Grunloh Building was narrowly passed 4-3 with Mayor Betty Brian casting the affirmative vote. The council also approved the annual MFT Street and Alley Maintenence program and a resolution to continue with the Safe Routes to School Sidewalk project. The official date for the annual City-Wide Cleanup for Sumner was officially announced as Friday June 7th. More detail regarding the clean-up will be released as the date draws closer.
