The calendar has flipped to October, there is a chill in the air and for St. Paul's Catholic Church, that can only mean one thing -- it is time for Oktoberfest.
The church will hold its 13th annual Oktoberfest celebration Saturday, Oct. 3 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the church, 202 East Washington St., Greencastle. The festivities, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, feature plenty of food, drink and a party atmosphere for the entire family, according to event organizers.
"It is a great atmosphere with great food and drinks at reasonable prices with live music and games," St. Paul's Catholic Church spokesman Matt Wekler told The Putnam County Post.
Food, including the famous corndogs, will be available, along with Joe Wright performing music, traditional Oktoberfest music in the beer garden, children's activities, raffle drawings, bingo, games of chance and much more. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and include an opportunity to win Colts tickets, gift cards, cash and more.
"I like that it's a great festival for our Parish while also bringing the community together and having a great traditional festival, usually with beautiful weather, while enjoying good food and drinks," Welker said.
According to Welker, proceeds support activities within the Catholic Parish and organizations in the Greencastle community, such as Beyond Homeless and CareNet Pregnancy Center.
