Six nabbed in Brazil robbery, attempted kidnapping

A total of six people from the Cincinnati area have found themselves behind bars in connection to a robbery and attempted kidnapping behind the Pilot Travel Center in Brazil.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, a father and daughter stopped at the travel center earlier this month and were by approached by two men who invited them to the truck area to play a card game under the ruse that they would have an opportunity to double their money.

"During the game, the father displayed a large amount of cash. Investigators believe multiple suspects then forcibly took the money, leading to a physical altercation. During the incident, one suspect reportedly physically engaged with the juvenile daughter," a news release said.

This week, Sheriff Brinson Swearingen announced the arrests of six individuals from Ohio, including five from Cincinnati.

Those arrested include: David Delano Roach, Jr., 34, Batavia, Ohio, John Branham, 69, Cincinnati, William Morrow, 70, Cincinnati, James Holt, 67, Cincinnati, Michael Roseberry, 33, Cincinnati and Cameron Roseberry, 24, Cincinnati.

According to Swearingen, the six had been traveling throughout the Midwest, stopping at truck stops and playing the "card game" with others.
