Sellers arrested for misuse of 911

A Plymouth man was arrested early Friday morning for misuse of the 911 system.

At 6:20 a.m. on August 22^nd, the Plymouth Police Department responded to a call for service at 301 Skylane Drive, where 32-year-old Isaac Sellers reported multiple people were walking in and around his apartment.

Officers responded and confirmed there was no one but Sellers present. Sellers was taken to the hospital, where he was evaluated and cleared and advised not to contact 911 unless there is an emergency.

Later Friday morning, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Sellers dialed 911 again and reported that multiple people were walking around his apartment with guns.

Officers responded to the apartment and confirmed there was no one inside but Sellers. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked in for Misuse of 911.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
