By Staff report

On Wednesday, the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from the parents of a missing 41-year-old white female, Julia Frederick, who resides with them.

Ms. Frederick left a note to her parents on Saturday, June 21, stating she would be camping on the heavily wooded property.  In the note, she stated she had her cell phone with her in case there was an emergency.  It is not out of the ordinary for Frederick to camp on the property and it also is not uncommon for her to be gone for days at a time.

Also Saturday, Frederick sent a text message to her mother that she was still on the property camping by the creek.  On Monday, her father drove his UTV around the property to locate Frederick.  He was able to locate what he believed to be her camping site; however, she was not present.

When the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to the report on Wednesday, all buildings in the immediate area were searched.  When Frederick was not located, a drone was sent up to search the wooded areas for heat signals and none were located.

An Emergency Ping to locate her phone was attempted but there was no information obtained; likely due to the phone being turned off.  Due to the severe heat, likely shortage of food and Frederick possibly being out of medicine for her asthma inhaler, a Silver Alert was issued.

On Thursday,  the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office initiated a Grid-Style search with emergency personnel, equipment, kayaks, and drones from the Eel River Township, Lizton, Pittsboro, Coatesville and Danville Fire Departments.  Frederick was not located on the property or in the surrounding area.  Additional resources will be utilized Friday morning to conduct a secondary Grid-Style search.

Julia Frederick is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Anyone with information regarding Ms. Frederick is asked to contact the Hendricks County Communications Center at 317-839-8700.
