Rushville driver killed in two-vehicle Shelby County crash Tuesday morning

The name of a driver killed in a Tuesday two-vehicle crash in Shelby County has been released.

Kamryn Dickson, 20, of Rushville, was declared dead at the crash scene by the Shelby County Coroner at the intersection of North 500 East and East Main Street in Morristown.

A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. The cause and manner of death remain pending the completion of the autopsy and any additional studies, including toxicology. Toxicology results are typically not available for several weeks.

Just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, Morristown Police Department, Morristown Fire Department, Shelbyville Fire Department, Shelby County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Shelby County Coroner's Office responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash.  According to preliminary investigation a 2007 Pontiac passenger car was southbound on 500 East, entered U.S. 52 attempting to turn east when it was struck by a 2019 Ford F-250 westbound on U.S. 52. 

The Ford F-250 was driven by Noah Hanson, 27, of Rushville. Hanson was transported to Hancock Regional Hospital.

Dickson was the driver of the Pontiac.

A passenger in the Pontiac, Gabriel Wesikitel, 21, of Rushville, was transported to Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, with the

Shelby County Coroner's Office assisting.
