State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) discusses priority bills during the 2025 legislative session.
The 2025 legislative session is here, and Indiana House Republicans have announced priorities to protect taxpayers, streamline government and empower Hoosiers.
"At the top of the priority list is working to pass an honestly balanced, two-year state budget that protects taxpayers while maintaining critical investments in education and infrastructure, which I will co-author," said State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen).
House Republicans also are to advance efforts to reduce regulations on K-12 schools to increase flexibility and give local communities more control over education decisions through House Bill 1002. Other priority bills include legislation to tackle health care costs (HB 1003 and HB 1004) and to ensure we can meet the needs of today’s energy economy while keeping energy costs low for Hoosiers (HB 1007).
Additionally, House Republicans are to help improve access to housing across the state (HB 1005) and strengthen public safety by providing additional support for deputy prosecutors (HB 1006).
"Our final agenda bill would form a commission to examine redrawing state boundaries, potentially giving the 33 counties in Illinois that have voted to secede from their high-tax state a path to join us in low-tax, low-cost Indiana," Jordan said.
