The Red Hill Unit #10 District now has a new fiscal spending plan for 2026 after action Thursday night by the board of education.
After holding a required public hearing, they unanimously approved an approximate 9-million-dollar budget. It does contain increases in spending for many of the major funds such as education, operations and transportation. But Superintendent Jakie Walker told GIANT-FM News that the budget overall has positive fund balances for the coming year. He went on to say that some of the budgeted monies may not be spent in various areas, and the board could take action on an amended plan later.
Red Hill High School will be looking for a new girls' softball coach in the future. The board did move to accept the resignation of Olivia Vinsel from the position. She had led the program for the past two years.
