The Red Hill Unit #10 Board of Education met in special session Thursday afternoon and voted unanimously to accept a new three-year contract with the Red Hill Education Association (RHEA).
Negotiations began between the two sides in July and progressed up until final terms were agreed upon in early August. The pact covers district teachers, custodians and cooks. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The board also discussed changes to the ongoing Red Hill Junior/Senior High School South Gym project. Approved were changes regarding the flooring inside the gymnasium foyer and concession areas and also to the ceiling in the officials' room. Superintendent Jakie Walker told GIANT-FM News that the project work is still on schedule and is expected to be completed by November 1st.
